cosy-warmAs the colder weather is well and truly here, it’s important to make sure that we all keep warm. Organisations such as Age UK, The Independent Age and the Government all have booklets packed with guidance and tips (links below) for keeping warm and well this winter.  They contain lots of information and advice including; the temperatures your rooms should be set at, being prepared for severe cold snaps, the financial help that’s available to help heat your home, such as the Winter Fuel Payment and the Cold Weather Payment and how to keep active and stay healthy this winter.

There are also projects that can provide free advice sessions to community groups that can look at helping you to save money on your energy bills and access grants and other services you might be entitled to.

If you belong to a community group then the Big Energy Saving Network can offer free advice sessions at your venue.  Sessions are fun and interactive and could save an average of £200 off your energy bills!
